SR. GAME DEV

We need a full-time Game Engineer. You will be working in our Seattle, WA office.

We are a small, agile team so you’ll be expected to work on a broad variety of features and systems. We will also expect you to contribute creatively by being involved in the design process, and proactively prototyping new ideas and solutions.

 

REQUIREMENTs

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience

  • Minimum five years of experience in games or a closely-related field – we want to see shipped games (small/indie games are fine)

  • Fluency in networking and multiplayer concepts

  • Strong 3D math background (e.g., linear algebra, vector math)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Fluency in C#

  • Experience with Unity, Unreal, or a similar game engine

  • Comfortable working in fast-moving, ambiguous development environments.

  • A constant desire to learn, improve, and help others improve

 

BONUS POINTS

  • Strong background in Augmented and/or Virtual Reality technologies (e.g., HTC Vive, Steam VR, Oculus Rift, etc.)

  • Recent console experience (e.g., PlayStation 4, Xbox One)

  • Experience with live services and rapid-deployment

  • Experience with metrics/telemetry

  • Experience with and passion for design


SR. SERVER DEV

We need a full-time Senior Server Engineer. You will be working in our Seattle, WA office.

You’ll be primarily responsible for the design and development of the Azure cloud services powering our game. We are a small, agile team so you’ll be expected to work on a broad variety of features and systems. We will also expect you to contribute creatively by being involved in the design process, and proactively prototyping new ideas and solutions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 5 years writing and maintaining cloud services using .NET/C#

  • Experience with Entity Framework, ASP.NET, and WCF

  • Knowledge of synchronization techniques in stateless distributed systems, and experience building RESTful API backend services

  • Experience using various cloud storage systems (SQL, NoSQL, Blob storage, etc.) and an understanding of the tradeoffs between them

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable working in fast-moving, ambiguous development environments

  • A constant desire to learn, improve, and help others improve

BONUS POINTS

  • Experience with Game Development and Game Engines (preferably Unity)

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services

  • Experience working on backend services for social networks

TECHNICAL RECRUITER

We’re looking for a full cycle Recruiter to help us grow the Rec Room team.

This is a full-time role that would work in our Seattle office.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Manage full cycle recruitment including sourcing and attracting, screening and engaging, interviewing and evaluating, offer and onboarding support. 

  • Develop networks and utilizes online tools to source passive and active candidates.

  • Act as a lead in the department, providing regular communication and reporting.

  • Ensure effective workflow management.

  • Discuss hiring needs with hiring managers to identify job specifications, requirements, qualifications, and skills. 

  • Develop a keen understanding of each position to evaluate applicants and promote qualified candidates to the hiring manager. 

  • Communicate regularly with hiring managers until the positions are filled. 

  • Quickly establishes rapport, via phone and email with applicants.  


REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience

  • Computer literacy, including Word, Excel, email, applicant tracking system, etc.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with internal employees, contacts, applicants, and the Rec Room community

  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within applicable deadlines.

  • Good judgment and a high standard of professional business ethics. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, close attention to detail and strong research/sourcing skills.

  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information.

  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions from co-workers and easily adapt to ambiguous situations.
