RecCon 2024 Booth Applications

Rec Con 2024 is on its way! So it's time to get those booths ready! 

The deadline for booth applications is August 26th at 11:59 PM PDT.

Things to know:

  • Each player will only be allowed to submit one booth. 

  • We will not be sending out emails on whether your booth was accepted or not. 

  • Booths with unauthorized use of intellectual property (IP) may not be selected. This includes inventions, custom shirts, and any other content or imagery in your booth. 

  • Please read all guidelines and rules carefully. 

  • The booth template has changed, do not use the old booth templates! 

  • Name your booth “{Your username} Rec Con booth 2024

We will not be giving any feedback on booths, but be sure to follow all of the rules to ensure the best chance of your booth being accepted.  

You must create a booth invention BEFORE completing the application.

Before you apply - Booths

Here's what you need to know to get prepared for submitting a booth to the expo hall:

Download the RecCon 2024 Booth Template invention from Coach. The booth template has changed, do not use the old booth templates!

Customize the booth however you see fit to promote your inventions, custom shirts, and portfolio information. You can have almost anything you want within the boundaries of the booth, but do not exceed 15% ink overall in your booth. You can add link buttons to your portfolio or club, room posters, a storefront for your custom shirts, and maybe even a holotar to man your booth when you're not there yourself! Go wild, and be creative, and show off your best works at this expo!

Save your customized booth as an invention, including the UNMERGED booth template. You are not required to publish your booth invention.

Complete the form linked at the bottom of this web page and submit your information to apply!

­When building your booth, please keep in mind these guidelines and rules:

  • Objects must not extend past the booth walls or extend into the aisle.­

  • Do not merge the booth template to your builds. Please include it in your invention; we will delete it once it is placed! 

  • Content must not infringe, misappropriate, or violate a third party's intellectual property rights, or rights of publicity or privacy. More information on what intellectual property is can be found here.

  • Everything you use in your booth should be made by you or your group. Please do not use other’s inventions from the store or rooms.

  • Do not exceed 15% ink overall in your booth.

  • Take a full booth image when creating your invention.

  • Your booth should contain a profile, club or invention buttons.

  • Do not freeze anything in your booth. You can use a gadget or gizmo to hold objects in place.

  • You can not make changes to your booth after submission. Please make sure you are 100% done when you are submitting your booth!

Can I modify the booth template? 

  • You cannot resize or clone any part of the booth template!

  • You can decorate however you want within the boundaries of the booth. Objects must not extend past the booth walls at all.

  • Do not merge the booth template into your booth. The booth template will be removed from your booth when installed in RecCon.

  • The booth template does not count against your ink allotment.

Can I have circuits in my booth?

  • Yes, but keep it simple. Your booth should work as intended when spawned in as an invention. Keep everything local. Audio should not be heard beyond your booth. Mini games are fine but make sure it is local so only the person playing will have the events. 

Here is a list of circuits we DO NOT recommend for your booths: 

  • Game rules chips

  • Game circuits

  • Leaderboard stats

  • Hud circuits

  • UI circuits

  • Role chips

  • Mood chips

  • Music that extends past your booth

  • AI chips

  • Circuits that lead to another room

  • Skydome Chips 

  • Custom Locomotion 

  • Cloud Variables

Can I have props in my booth?

  • Weapons, charades pens, or projectile launchers will NOT be accepted. In addition, NO grabbable markers, erasers, or paintbrushes will be allowed.

How strict are the guidelines on the booth?

  • Just stay within the template. We will delete the template after placing it so don't worry if it doesn't match your booth! ­

 
 

­Can I go over the sides of the template?

  • Nope, all creations must stay within the boundaries of the booth template.

Can I link to my own rooms in my booth?

  • You can not add doors or links to other rooms in your booth, but you can add posters and information about your rooms in your booth.

Can I sell or promote my premium inventions in my booth?

  • Premium inventions are okay to promote if applicable.

Can I have a storefront in my booth?

  • You can have 1 storefront in your booth to showcase up to 50 of your custom shirts. The shirts must be created by you or added to the storefront with the creator's permission. You can not sell keys in the storefront.­

Can I freeze objects in my booth?

  • Do not freeze anything in your booth. Use a component or gadget to hold items in place.

­Can I submit a booth in more than one category?

  • No, each player will only be allowed to submit one booth and can only be submitted to one category.

Can I use Rec Room Studio assets?

  • No, Rec Room Studio assets can not be made into inventions.­

What is the difference between a Portfolio and an Artist Alley booth?

  • Artist Alley booths contain artwork made with markers and paintbrushes. While Portfolio contains room posters, inventions and makerpen builds.

Can I have a double booth?

  • We will not have double booths in RecCon this year.
