Official Rec Room Rec Royale Tournament

Get ready to team up and battle it out on Frontier Island!

We’re hosting a Rec Royale tourney! This tournament will be Rec Royale Squads. Sign ups will open Wednesday, February 3rd and will close Monday, February 15th. Once sign ups are closed, we will post a bracket and schedule. The number of matches played will depend on how many people sign up. Please read the rules and scroll down to the bottom of the page to join the Discord where this event will be coordinated. The tournament will be kicking off at 12:00PM PST on Saturday, February 20th, and will last the remainder of the day.

Rules: 

  • All players must have a registered, non-junior Rec Room account.

  • Players will form teams themselves. This tournament is open to all locomotions and platforms that are able to play Rec Royale (PS4, PSVR, PC, PCVR, iOS, Xbox, Oculus Quest 2). Only teams of 3 will be allowed. No shorthanded teams! 

  • You must be available and ready to play at the beginning of your time slot. Teams that do not show up during their time slot will be forced to forfeit. 

  • Once the schedule is posted, time slots and match times will not be rescheduled. Delays may occur if matches take longer than expected.

  • Once a match begins, it will be played until its completion. 

  • There will be no rematches unless a game breaking bug causes all players to disconnect. In this case, regardless of the state of the match at the time of the incident, matches will be replayed in their entirety. 

  • Matches will consist of 5 teams of 3 players, for a total of 15 players per match.

  • Matches will be observed and potentially streamed by Rec Room staff and vetted Officials. If cheating, hacking, or conduct related issues occur, they will be handled by Rec Room staff. Forms of cheating include but are not limited to the abuse of player height, shooting/moving through map geometry, and lag/connection manipulation. 

  • Players using VR must place their controllers on the ground before each match to prove their height is calculated correctly. Hands may not be completely under the ground or more than six inches above the ground. Any player caught in height manipulation will result in the team’s forfeit. 

  • Players cannot block players on the opposing teams for the duration of the game. If you are facing a specific team and they have a player that you have blocked in the past, we ask you to unblock them during the duration of your match. You may re-block them after the match is over.

  • The tournament will be single elimination. If your team is wiped out, you are out of the tournament. The winning team of any given match will move on to the next match until there are 5 teams remaining.  

  • Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated. Players can be competitive for this event, but not hostile. As always, please adhere to the Rec Room Code of Conduct and be excellent to each other.
