St. Patrick’s Day Treasure Hunt - Creators
ROOM ADDITIONS ARE NOW CLOSED. Thanks for participating in our St. Patrick’s Day treasure hunt! We think this will be a fun and rewarding way to encourage players to check out the amazing and wonderful rooms you create.
How to participate
To participate, follow these steps:
Download one of these inventions from the Store (made by @Coach):
Place it somewhere in a public room that you own (with leaderboard stat 3 free!)
Tag the room with #treasurehunt
That’s it!
We’ll be using leaderboard stat 3 to track the finds, so PLEASE let us know if you are already using it for something else and need a different channel.
Some guidelines for participating:
While your item can be difficult to find, it needs to be accessible (ie. no glitching through walls, no playspace adjustments) to players on screen and at an average VR height. Please test with a friend and make sure it can be found, and the button inside tapped! If your item is not accessible at any time between March 10th - 18th, you may not qualify for rewards.
You can put the item at the end of a challenge like an obstacle course or game if you’d like, or simply hide it in the room.
Please check that finds are recorded on your leaderboard, as we’ll use this to track the number of finds in your room.
If you want to use keys to allow players an easier find, that’s ok! (Ideas: a pot-o-gold detector, narrowing search areas, jump boost to make hard parkour easier, etc.) Items still must be publicly accessible without the use of keys.
While you may want to make a dead easy find to boost numbers, remember that having players spend more time in your room increases the chances you’ll get new subs, key purchases, fans, etc. And tougher finds get better prizes!
Rooms must be open to Juniors so everyone can participate - if the room isn’t suitable for Juniors, please pick a different room!
Only one item can be hidden per room, but you are free to place items in as many rooms as you’d like!
For creators, there is a two million token prize pool, which will be split between:
Rooms with Most Found treasure hunt items (between 10,000 and 70,000 tokens, which will be split between creators)
Rooms with Least Found treasure hunt items (between 15,000 and 105,000 tokens, which will be split between creators) (we will check that these are actually in the room and accessible!)
Rooms with the best hiding spots (judged by the Rec Room team, with open nominations) - up to 5 winners with Interesting or Tricky Spots, and up to 5 winners with CLEVER “in plain sight” spots that people might miss or are challenging to reach - 40,000 tokens per room, split between creators
Rooms with interesting key mechanics to help players - up to 5 winners - 40,000 tokens per room, split between creators
