Course Layout

Course Starts: Jan 21st - Feb 8th.

This class is for IOS users only

This will be a three week class

Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:00 PM PT

Two things to consider before signing up for this course; this is intended for IOS creators only, and you will need to be able to dedicate some of your time over the course of the class. It is not especially demanding, but we will not let you complete the course if you do not complete the exercises leading up to the final project.

You can sign up via the MakerPenClass Discord at https://discord.gg/jh9XbPN Classes / availability will fill up on a first come first served basis. You will be assigned to an IOS-Creative Classes channel if there are any spaces left and can ask the instructors any questions you might have in the #ios-general channel! Announcements will be made in the #IOS channel.

The course will consist of two weekly meetings over a total of 2 weeks. Assignments begin on Tuesday and are expected to be completed the following Tuesday. You will start off learning about basic tools and circuits with several exercises. After the exercises are completed you will start on a group project. Once all the exercises and projects are complete, your team will be given a final project with a theme. Once your team has completed the final project successfully, each member of the team will be given a unique bootcamp version of the upcoming graduation gown avatar item!

Additionally, you must also be respectful to others in the class. Remember, everyone learns differently and at different paces, so keep the ego out of the class. If not, you will be removed from the class.

SCHEDULE

You will start off learning through several different exercises

Week 1 - First exercise 

Tuesday Meeting: Receive assignments, learn how to use the creative tools on IOS to build a door.

Thursday Meeting: Receive assignments, learn how to use the creative tools on IOS while building an outdoor space.

Week 2 - Second exercise

Tuesday Meeting: Receive assignments, build with circuits to make your door move with teacher guidance, have opportunities to ask questions about assignments.

Thursday Meeting: Learn how to use lights

Week 3 - First Project

Work together to build a medium size, hangout map by using your creative skills and gadgets that you have learned from the exercises. Put it all together to create an exciting experience for players.
